Today, I combine two things that I am used to post separately. Even though I named this post “52 Portrait Project“, it is also my contribution for this week’s photo challenge. The theme for this challenge is “Good Morning”.
But now, back to the picture…
This is an attempt to do multiple exposure photography in digital times. What I did was simple: I shot a silhouette of me and combined it (in GIMP) with two other pictures I made earlier. This technique actually dates back to the days of analogue photography and can lead to quite interesting results. I will definitely hold on to this technique and try on.
At first, I only wanted to make a silhouette, but it seemed so boring to me. It was only when I saw an old double exposure picture from my father that I decided to try something similar. So here is the result; a “morning me”, elusive and in desperate need of water, tea and a newspaper.

What is this 52 Portrait Project I was talking about?
Each week, I will post a new portrait of me that I shot during that week. I will experiment with clothes, lighting, locations and settings, to get a better understanding of how those things work and interact with each other (especially lighting). I will also elaborate on how I took the shot.
I am more than glad to receive tips and suggestions on how to improve my pictures, as the goal of this 52 week project is to enhance my photography skills. So feel free to comment my pictures with positive and negative criticism.
